I came across this quote the other day and found it very cool! Why? Because regular reading is offering so many benefits. When you look at very successful people like e.g. Bill Gates and others, they all read a lot and on a regular basis.
Here are 5 benefits of regular reading according to research studies
* improves brain connectivity.
* increases vocabulary and comprehension.
* empowers the ability to empathize with other people.
* can help or support fighting depression symptoms.
* can help preventing cognitive decline as you age.
It also helps coping better with the currently ongoing industrial revolution called digitalization! Especially the country I live in should say “thank you ‘ to the corona virus. Since 2019 video calls became more or less standard, working conditions have changed massively as working from home became popular and even the federal government understood that fax machines are technology from the 80s…Too many people are left behind already, think about electronic payment online but also in grocery stores.
I am proud that I was able to implement the habit of reading at least one book per week. For me as a C- level digital executive, it is basically a ~must~ in order to stay current on upcoming technologies.
As a certified High Performance Coach I’m aware that the overall benefits are even bigger when supported by regular physical exercise:. According to research physical exercise:
- helps creating energy, motivation and drive
- Helps managing weight
- Helps with sleeping better at night
- Increases flexibility and mobility
- Increases self esteem
who wouldn’t want that? Problem is that common knowledge is not always common practice.
Wishing everybody a great day and hey, make a difference today!
