Twelve years ago, I transitioned to a completely paperless lifestyle, both professionally and personally, and it has been transformative. As a C-level executive constantly on the move, I found paper inefficient—it’s rarely where you need it. By digitizing all my documents, implementing a secure backup strategy, and ensuring access from anywhere, I solved this problem seamlessly.
In my personal life, I’ve adopted the same approach. For over a decade, I’ve been reading books and magazines exclusively on an iPad Pro, enjoying the convenience and sustainability of digital solutions. It feels very relaxing when I am somewhere in the world speaking English all day, to be able to buy and read an e- book in my mother tongue.
This long-term commitment represents true digital leadership. However, it’s surprising to see so many companies and authorities still clinging to outdated paper processes, struggling to adapt. They are kind of stuck in the last century while the world moves forward. Oh, and I still get raised eyebrows from doctors when I provide them with documents, e.g. from other colleagues, via a link while I’m still at their practice, amazing….
Living paperless is not just a choice; it’s a mindset that embraces efficiency, innovation, and sustainability for the future.
